New Year, New Game

2025 has been a good year so far. I've started working on a new game that's been on my mind for a while. For the last several years I've wanted to make a ninja themed card game and I recently printed my first prototype of the cards and the first alpha version of the rules.
I hope that one day I'll be able to make a full trading card game, but in the meantime, I think that this would be a good way to practice making card mechanics. The game is for two players who each have a deck of 40 cards. The deck is made of ninjas, traps, and techniques. Both decks are identical, which will make development easier than a TCG. My hope is that the game will have a chess-like quality to it where two players, with exactly the same resources, have to decide how to outmaneuver their opponent.
I'm still going to be working on my mecha combat game, but I think that having two very different games to work on will be beneficial. If I start to feel overwhelmed or burned out working on one of the games, I can switch things up and start working on the other one. This new game is still in the very early alpha stages, but I'll share more about it as I continue development.
I hope you're all having a good start to your 2025!

That sounds exciting! One of my good friends loves getting games, so I am always playing new ones. And I am always fascinated by people's creativity in the game design. Good luck with your game! I hope to play it one day!
